MicroBlade Networking MicroBlade networking options include two or four Ethernet modules. For simple Layer 2 switching at 1Gbps/2.5Gbps the MBM-GEM-001 switch offers a cost-effective connectivity option for MicroBlade systems. The MBM-XEM-001 provides 10GbE Solution. The 10-Gigabit Ethernet Layer 2 switch module (part # MBM-XEM-001) connects internally to 10-Gigabit interface on server side. External 40-Gigabit QSFP connectors are provided for uplinks. Gigabit Ethernet Modules Switches: The 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet switch module (part ID MBM-GEM-001) includes connection to the MicroBlade's LAN interfaces. While MBM-GEM-001 connects to the LAN interfaces onboard the Blade servers. This is SDN enabled layer 2 Ethernet switching module also has two internal Ethernet paths to the MicroBlade Chassis Management Module CMM(s) to allow configuration and management of the switch. Offering such advanced features as SDN open flow 1.x, link aggregation, VLAN, Spanning Tree, Access Control Lists and Jumbo Frame support, the switches provide a connection between the Ethernet controllers integrated on the mainboard to the external Ethernet systems. |
